I have just heard that there might not be any actual welsh mods in the welsh chatrooms, is this true?
If so, I think this needs a rethink, having "local(ish)" people as mods means they integrate better, making their job easier. |

Personally I find it insulting that I am deemed not to be integrated in any of the rooms...I have friends in Scotland, Northern, London and General...ask them if I would be better being "native" to those rooms. |

"Personally I think if a mod is appointed to mod, that they should be able to mod any room fairly, no matter where they actually live.
"
I totally agree.
However, we once got a lifetime ban from the chatroom (since recinded on investigation by admin) because a mod (no names, no pack drill lol!) who wasnt from the welsh room and didnt know us, came in during a heated debate which we wernt even a part of, and banned us, even tho there were welsh mods there who were dealing with the situation. Any mod who knows us would have known that we are not the kind of people who abuse mods.
We have seen other mods come into the welsh room, and they do a good job, but mods who regularly chat in a particular room will get to know thost that cause trouble, and those who just chat. |

"I have moved it to here as you stuck it in the feedback section...my god, would hate to have taken a post of yours off if you carry on like these.
Next time I won't bother explaining."
Well, apologies, I thought I had put it here, many thanks for putting it in the right place. |

You don't have to know people to mod a room, you just have to make sure people don't break rules. I flit rooms and don't have a regular one I stay in and can normally figure out who are the people who need banning.
Regulars who are normally ok have been known to have an off day and need banning though. |

Sure we could all request a mod for a specific room...blah blah...
Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales.. not forgetting London...
Leave the Mods to do what they are best at, impartiality, if you feel you could do better, sign up. |

Only ever having experienced the welsh room, I thought that rooms did have their "assigned" mods, it just made sense for the reasons listed above.
As for impartiality, I have seen welsh mods ban their friends when it became neccessary, so no problems there.
As for signing up, I dont think, having gone one or two rounds wih admin on a number of issues, that my chances of becoming a mod are in the "likely" pile, more probably in the "not a snowflake in hells chance" pile!! |
