can someone tell me how to lower the webcam without closing the laptop lid.

I had the same problem, so I bought a USB webcam to plug in. That way I can show what I want, and still see the screen

That's the best way, get a HD USB webcam from Argos for around £15 - £20

Change the Power Settings. They're in the Control Panel. Self explanatory left hand column.

alternatively right click on the battery icon and choose Other Options.
