Any others out there hoping to join in a discussion or convo to help pass the evening and end up getting disappointed as either ignored or responded to in a unfriendly/dismissive way. Doesn't seem to matter what the level of the subject,if you're not in the clique it's quite demotivating. |

It can seem frustrating when everyone is chatting away in their groups but I find it helpful to think of it like showing up in a new pub or bar. It takes time to get established in a new local to be recognised as a regular. Persistence does pay off, I've been a regular chatter for about 2 and a half years but it took a while before I had built those relationships. |
