There are probably better explanations but here goes, the rooms allow directing, camming and chatting, others camming and chatting without directing, some rooms are regional and some are set for bi preference. |

How come a room shows people but I can’t see them? I was asked by a friend to join her in a room but I couldn’t see her, she text me a picture of her in the room, she’s on a webcam me on iPhone does that matter? |

To the OP, directing rooms are where you can go and ask people to do things on cam and where they can also ask the same from you. This isn't allowed in non directing rooms, eg the regional rooms. Hope this helps you, enjoy the chat, I'm sure I'll see you there at some point!  |
