We also enjoy wild camping on Dartmoor.
Our favourite is to park at the visitor centre car park and walk north west following the river Dart .
Mind ,the last one we did we started to show our age.
We were going for two nights and it pissed down all day and night so the second day we thought "sod that!" and booked the B&B at the Plume of Feathers in Princetown ,which was very nice with a huge breakfast.
