Anyone go wild camping in Dartmoor ? Planning on heading down there within the next month or so for a few nights.

Wild camping on Dartmoor is fantastic - regular thing in my late teenage years. Some good pubs within walking distance of a few places too!

We have camped wild on Dartmoor many, many times. Great fun and also a good thing for the family to do together.

Near Bordon

We also enjoy wild camping on Dartmoor.

Our favourite is to park at the visitor centre car park and walk north west following the river Dart .

Mind ,the last one we did we started to show our age.

We were going for two nights and it pissed down all day and night so the second day we thought "sod that!" and booked the B&B at the Plume of Feathers in Princetown ,which was very nice with a huge breakfast.

Well it looks like Dartmoor is off the cards for the moment due to the Coronavirus situation but if anyone fancies meeting up that way when it’s safe to do so please get in touch x Stay safe all.

Two bridges is also a great place to start - lots of camping up the Dart towards and after Wistman's Wood. Also a drink at the fabulous Two Bridges Hotel!
