Do many of you use the caravan and motorhome club site, it would be great to meet some of you |

We use Baltic wharf in the very Centre of Bristol quite often when you can get booked on, which is really difficult. Also York Site is similarly perfect for a city stay. We spent all of xmas last year there. Brighton is close tho Bristol gardens spa and also walkable to town. Hurn lane for brean is close to the beach and fun nights in the cabaret bars with parking on the huge sandy beach not to be missed on the Sunday of a weekend away. Most other sites are pretty boring, in out the way places and for geriatrics we found. Decent standard of sites without question but can be expensive and a bit depressing when you see who's pitched around you. |

We're members but mostly for cheaper ferry crossings. Tbh find a lot of their sites feel very formal and not particularly relaxing |

Formerly just the caravan club they added motorhome to the organisation due to the rising popularity of them and campervans. Not sure it was a marketing trick or a attempt to take or gain more members from the other clubs |

It's extremely hard to get a weekend as it's always booked up being so small.but it's location for the nightlife is superb. We're off again on the 15th for some Xmas revelry. ! Love it there. So much better than any other site on the network if you like fun rather than watching the grass grow or the telly like so many in that club do. |

Is it not Bristol who want to ban all diesel powered vehicles from the city in a couple of years time ? IF that proposal happens of course. |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
Regarding watching telly and the grass grow it's a very popular pastime on the club sites these days. We remember a few years ago a bloke stood outside holding a aerial whilst his mrs barked instructions to enable to watch coronation street. We go away to walk cycle and have a good time look at new places visit pubs
If a bit of naughty fun comes our way that's a added bonus.

We are members of caravan and mother home club (about twenty years ) . We have found that if you mention in your profile that you have a motorhome or caravan other people will contact you and you can always arrange a meet at a site . It seems to work for us . We have also visited several naturist sites in the uk . But that depends on the weather not fun when it’s raining and cold ( end up walking round with a dick like a current ) lol lol Good luck Simon and sue xxx |

We've been members for 3 years now with our VW campervan and have visited quite a few sites, mostly in Peak or Lake District. Usually they're good sites but a lot of the other campers seem more than a bit boring! We go to enjoy the countryside, see new places, get some fresh air and walk the dog. Not met any fellow Fabbers yet but you never know Need to use it more this year. And we don't have a telly in the van either!! |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
We have been members for only 6 months and have yet to stay on any of their sites or use any of their services so not had any value for money from the membership yet.
Our own fault really as we much prefer using Britstops, SearchforSites and Park4night type locations as we tend to be always on the move so unlikely we will renew our membership

I'm going to be taking a tent and camping at a site just outside of Norwich, probably about may or just after, it's a naturist site so can just walk around naked.
Could be a fun way for fab members to meet.
It's a family site so any play would have to be indoors, or hidden in the woods. Lol |

A common problem is how do you identify a fellow FAB member or even a swinging couple for that matter . A discrete small identifying sticker at badge could at least help . It has been talked about before but as yet no one has come up with an idea . One suggestion was to fold the windscreen wipers up , but what happens when frost is forecast and people fold their windscreen wipers up , ooops could be embarrassing lol any ideas ??? |

"I'm guessing that by the title they don't allow tent owners into the club like the idea of meeting like-minded folks though on my trips away. Definitely from spring onwards for me though " That's correct the only have pitches for caravans and motorhomes. We looked at their stand on Sunday at Eventcity and the yearly membership is £56 whilst the caravan and camping club is £43 |

I'm member of C&CC was in both but never used caravan & motorhome sites just camping club ones....as most caravan camping I do is off grid rally sites. Apparently if you had a rubber duck in your fire bucket it indicates that your a swinger issue comes when theres kids staying too as it could be just a child toy |

There is a list on the CAMC site of those which will be opening up, some won't be this year I fear as the induction and handovers were not done in time to open.... |

I've been a member for over 40 years, but find their main sites are a rip-off, often being dearer than comparable commercial sites.
I mainly use their CLs, which I find much better value, but they could do with a major sales drive to get more in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
I use the site for caravan insurance, the ferries, and the CLs. |

I've given up on the main Club sites, because of the pricing issue, when you add the cost of the pitch, plus the number of persons, they're often dearer than commercial sites.
So I only use CLs now, which are nicer and usually quieter, but most importantly, cheaper! |

Welcome to the CAMC...we are in both clubs but usually find the CAMC and their CL sites closer to where we want to be, taking the MoHo we use bikes or legs to get around... have fun.. |

Really like the peace and quiet of the CLs. Max 5 vehicles, many in great locations. |

"Regarding watching telly and the grass grow it's a very popular pastime on the club sites these days. We remember a few years ago a bloke stood outside holding a aerial whilst his mrs barked instructions to enable to watch coronation street. We go away to walk cycle and have a good time look at new places visit pubs
If a bit of naughty fun comes our way that's a added bonus.
Who needs a TV there is so much shite on "
We have been members of both the C&CC (35 years) and the C&MC (20 years) and have not in all that time even considered having a TV on board (rarely use the one at home these days!).
Have seen the situation you saw where the first job the man had to do was set up the aerial under instructions from inside. Funny to watch but we did feel that the priorities were wrong.
We tend to listen to the radio, better scenery, or read of an evening. Out and about most of the day otherwise. |

Been away for last two weeks in our caravan. Staying at Caravan and Motorhome Club sites in South West Scotland. Incidentally had absolutely glorious weather, at brilliant locations.
Not once have I found any Fab profiles on line (near me) on the site, the whole time. Very disappointed lol.
Such is life!! |
