I’m not long home from traveling around Australia and New Zealand. Now that I’m back I really want to build a camper and travel Europe. Anyone done this before? Any tips?
Would it be best to start my build on a left hand drive van as I’m thinking of selling it when over there and flying home
Any advice appreciated |

I don’t know about other countries in Europe but I know that in Portugal it is not easy to import a vehicle whether it’s left or right hand drive. I think you would be better driving it back to Uk where the market for second hand campers is booming. Enjoy your trip by the way and I hope you meet loads of fun people. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

If your thinking about selling the vehicle on the continent you would be better off buying in Germany that way you should have less problems selling it but I wouldn’t bank on it , also if your planning a trip of over 12 months you need to get it tested etc in the country of registration
Other than that it’s pretty simple be careful where you park fit a good strong box for valuables and documents have fun |

as already said , importing isn`t chaep or easy,
for ease , I would
use a Uk based van ,travel around and then sell on facebook on an English speaking page in France (loads of them) and let them have the pleasure of changing it over instead,
you might even make a few quid lol. |
