"Where is that?
I do love a good walk, hill and camp, even better with no or limited people around.
I suspect he means Tan Hill Inn, about 25 miles outside Reeth North Yorks "
Thank you |

The highest pub in the UK, it was on the news when people were stranded there after heavy snow |

"What are the rules to wild camping?
Surely you can't just pitch a tent anywhere, can you?"
For Scottish wildcamping look up Scottish Outdoor Access Code, there is a section giving your rights and responsibilities for wildcamping and lots of other stuff you might want to get up to as well |

If the info is right the Kynodart pub has closed due to costs. |

Hola Amigos. I've wild camped in loads of places around Europe. Done 13 countries in 2020 and been in Southern Spain since Oct 2020. Left UK April 2019.
I still sleep in my tent now. Found a nice place and just keep my tent uo and pack my bag with important stuff. I have up everything to backpack as a lifestyle. |

"I only wild camp, or as the Yanks say, Boondocking, great to get off grid."
Me too, too many people at campsites and I don't it's camping if you have swimming pools, toilets, showers, bars etc. It's just a hotel with your room outside.
I love camping by water, I use it to wash and wash my clothes with a bit of shower gel. My clothes have been washed in Rhine river, lake Vänern Sweden, Rhone River, lakes and rivers all around Europe. I love this life but covid stopped my travels for a bit. I'll be heading off again by March |

Try to get out as often as I can, living close to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs is great but thanks to mindless idiots wild camping can be very difficult
Find the further away from towns the better hence the reason I prefer up around Glencoe.
Glen Etive a personal favourite spot |

Big up to the real wild campers! We do.. what they call "wild camping" in our camper, in fact, we 99% wild camp... but in reality it just means we aren't on a site... it does also mean we end up in some lovely places... Similar outlook, different equipment! I've spent a lot of time under a "basher" so those that know... know what that means too... Lifes about enjoying and wild camping will always bring the biggest smiles... xx |

Me & the mrs have just bought a camper and we intended on doing this in the peak district as it's not too far away.
Looks like a lot of car parks are either regularly checked or camera'd up though so just need to find the right places |

I don't class campervanning as wild camping. It's just like parking up a bungalow. Too many luxuries. If you have a toilet and shower its not camping. Wild camping is camping in the wild. With the animals and just a sheet of material separating you. Too much safety in a campervan. Being in the middle of a forest in the elements. Ticks, spiders, mosquitoes and flies in your tent. Sometimes caterpillar and wasps. I play with the ticks, spiders and wasps. They don't bother me, I'm immune to mosquitoes now.
I remember camping on a beach in the Netherlands and a police helicopter flew right by me and I opened the door and a copper was waving me on lol. I had to pack up and get in the forest close by.
Campervanning is sort of wild camping. Maybe wild glamping |

Somehow I don't think I'd get the Mrs under a basher, don't even think that the joy of oatmeal block porridge cooking on a hexi burner in the rainy mizzle at 5am would entice her to try it lol |

I'm a backpacker it doesn't apply to me. I am a person of the world now and don't have a country. I don't do laws. I've been approached by the guardian without problems. I've been in Europe since 2019 so passport hasn't been stamped. |

That is something I’ve often quite fancied but woodland near us is pretty expensive. Oh well! |
