What’s the reaction at camp sites to a single guy booking in? Is it frowned on?

I've never had any issues and sometimes couples take pity on you and invite you to a bbq. The difficulty is then working out whether they're just being friendly or whether there's any hint of swinging lol. A difficult path to tread......

I generally stay at naturist sites. See and speak to plenty of gentlemen who go alone. Some are social animals, some are more there for the tranquility and keep them self to them self. But you'll not be out of place a lone male at a campsite in general (maybe you'd look a bit out of place at some very family oriented campsite).

There's three factors to consider really to your question:

The nature/friendliness of the campsite (different sites have different vibes).

The social/communal facilities at the site (such as swimming pools, club houses etc) and how well they are used (kind of linked to the first point).

And most importantly your attitude and simply how socially skilled you are.
