Hi, been looking at these for a while now and will probably wait till the sun seekers all start flying to Spain etc again but as I’m researching my first buy, are there any vans/motor homes you would advise avoiding like the plague. Ideally looking for something with its own shower/loo etc so I guess that makes it more of a motorhome does it? TIA |

Research the lay out and what you might need, perhaps hire/borrow one for the weekend. See how it drives.
Who makes the layout you like and read the reviews on the exact model.
German makes tend to be a good build and 03-09 good years
Best of luck |

For older motorhomes, look for ones with an ALKO chassis. This is a galvanised chassis that will not rust. Typically Fiat Ducato.
You can Google ALKO for more info.
Older vans dropped onto a standard chassis can be full of rust.
If you see a motorhome, or any vehicle of interest, put the reg nbr into the online DVLA MOT history check and look for fails and advisories from the past 12 years, especially ones that say about suspension components corroded that seriously affect structure. |

Honestly I wouldn't buy now have a big camper/motor home place near here prices have become ridiculous, demand has caused these places to hike their prices to cash in. You'll get far less for your money now you'd be better looking in a couple years as prices will plummet once people start jetting off again these be at give away prices. |

Ok, that’s worth remembering, maybe keep an eye on prices to see how they go. Thank you |

No one seems to have mentioned ulez ultra low emission zones like London, Bristol ect.. apparently great Manchester and Portsmouth are also going to create these zones. I'm wondering what the cost would be to buy a camper with a Euro 5/6 engine.. I've seen a 27 plate camper on auto trader with one £20,000
