Hi I’m looking for help and advice on wild camping spots in central Scotland, up as far as Perth/Dundee and down towards the borders.
I’m new to the camping lifestyle and advice or suggestions would help.
Ideally looking for somewhere that I can set my tent (medium sized) up close to where I can park.
Cheers |

For camping advice and help in finding off-grid locations in Scotland (or anywhere else for that matter) you can't do better than signing up to wildcamping.co.uk they're a really helpful bunch.
But please beware due to a sudden huge increase in campervan/motorhome use in the last couple of years, off-grid camping is getting quite a lot of negative press at the moment.
When engaging in this popular and fun pastime please be respectful of the local areas and the people who live and work there full time. Do not cause obstruction where you park or overnight and Always, Always take your rubbish, dirty water and toilet waste home with you for disposal.
The great thing about van camping is the freedom. I just got back from a weeks camping trip in Fife two days ago and I'm heading to Loch lomond today for an overnighter.. Why?
Because i can.. I love wild camping |

Of course if i had paid more attention to the OP, i would have realised he was tent camping and not van camping. My bad and apologies.
But same rules apply to being respectful and taking your rubbish home |

Thanks for the link to the website - I would always be respectful and my intention would be to leave the place only with flattened grass due to the tent.
I’ve made myself familiar with the countryside rules and wild camping etiquette.
Thanks for the tips and I hope our paths cross out there

"Loch doon in dumfries and galloway is a nice spot "
Loch Doon is actually in South Ayrshire, but not to get too pedantic,(lol), I never realised there was a caravan/camp site there, it looks lovely, on the shores of the Loch.
Once had a little dalliance just off the the road along to the Loch!! lol |
