Yes, you could quite easily hug the coastline and have an amazing journey - through lots of little villages and beach inlets.
If you are in to hill walking then Cader Idris is unrivalled imho. Trickier routes from Minffordd side, easier route from Dolgellau side.
Mawddach estuary worth a lay over. Beautiful sunsets if tide and weather right.
