Hi guys, just a little idea I have been working on. I have a motorhome and was thinking of getting a caravan to tow behind it, the caravan will be completely stripped out of all the wardrobe, cooker, bed's, and replaced with a hot tub. Get to a camp site fill up with water and plug in to electric, mobile hottub for fun times, any advice will be appreciated cheers stay safe

The weight of a filled hottub and a few people in it would be possible too much weight for a caravan chassis?

I doubt caravan chassis would be capable of taking the weight of a filled hot tub?

The chassis almost certainly would need strengthening plus don’t think the caravan would last long in such a damp atmosphere before it fell to bits?

I am going to strengthen the the caravan and it won't be getting towed with the hottub filled up, just fill it up when I get to the site. I have a trailer made out of a caravan twin axle chassis and that carries over a ton no problem. The only thing that will be in the caravan will be hottub and the fridge for the wine lol

A lot of hook-ups on sites are limited to 6A, maybe 10A at best, you might have to downrate the heating elements to account for this, then how long would it take for the hottub to reach temperature ?

You could use gas and heat pump to heat the water. With an old Radiator.

Some people say the golden age of British comedy is dead

This is a poke in the eye to all of them.

It would be far easier to get an inflatable hottub and a freestanding awning.

The moisture will destroy the caravan very quickly.

At Cap one year some Germans on the next pitch to us had an inflatable hottub. It was set up in front of the MH.

They made great use of it !

N Peterborough.

It's a great idea. Think a inflatable will be more practical.

1000 litres of water dumped on a caravan park, take the boxing gloves with you, you will need them.

Tarka trail

I personally would prefer a sauna then a shower. Hot or cold. There is nothing better than a moist minge

Love the idea, great in theory, but unfortunately, difficult in reality.

If you could build a hot tub time machine however.....

From 3kw 13 amp supply and a thousand liters would take 48 hours. So not really practical let alone water/chemicals stability.

So on that I am out.

The campsite will hate/ban you. All that water, electric, and leaving the pitch as an unusable bog. Good luck with that!!!!

I could see a great "Carry on" film out of this.

Carry on in the hot tub!

Between Trumpton and Camberwick Green

1 tonne of water is a cubic metre. So if your tub is 1m x 2m you're going to end up with about 15 cm of water per tonne.

More of a paddling pool really !
