I used to do a bit of bushcraft and we did quite a few weekend camps in the borders, spent a fair bit of time there and I'm now one of the woodland wardens.

Camp a lot in the winter months in my tipi with a woodburner for warmth and cooking on .

Its hard to beat gently swaying in the hammock somewhere peaceful although I seem to be doing mainly bivvy camps the last couple of years.

The midges are starting to die off now as it's starting to get a bit cold for them but they will be back again in the spring.

Winter is the best time of year for camping in Scotland but maybe not best for outdoor naked activities

Slept out last night in the Berwyns....very cold and clear, the night sky was stunning. Even saw a few shooting stars.

I don't think I'm properly geared for winter camping, but I have definitely done a lot of camping on my own on the Scottish Isles
