150mph. Uphill too. Didn't check the GPS so prob nearer a real 140.

Honda Blackbird, so plenty more to go.

Missed the opportunity on the unlimited stretches of the autobahn.

Following up on my last post, 3am this morning, transit van foo pelt down the outside lane in Germany, lost it and rolled, and rolled, and rolled! Easy 150-200yards.

It’s like aircraft, they have few crashes with no speed limit - but when they do - they DO!

I had a Busa in 99 & maxxed it out on a trip back from a rally early one Sunday. I do prefer to measure my speed over a whole journey though & to that end I covered 165mile in 100minutes on mainly Mways with about 30miles of A&B roads chucked in.

I was pissed off at the time as its an average speed of 99mph.

Somewhere over 160 on a busa. About 15yrs ago I was riding back from Turkey. Passing through Germany in the middle of the night and on an unrestricted section of the autobahn.

Worst experience with speed was way back in the 90s. Escorting a guy carrying an organ for transplant. Took him from Sussex to London in the traffic motor. Speed was never excessive but the volume of traffic, pedestrians, numpties intent on committing suicide by Police car and the duration of time on twos and blues really racked up the adrenaline. Practically fell out of the motor and couldn't drive back.

You don’t get the sense of speed freefalling whereas trying to keep the front wheel down under hard acceleration is another matter!!

Go do a jump either static line or tandem. I’d suggest tandem first as you’ll have more free fall time. It’s an amazing experience.

skydives on the bucketlist for sure "

Speedo of my old tuned CBR600RR topped out at 173 down the final straight of the Nurburgring back in 2006 when I had enough balls to keep it pinned for that long, I was there all weekend and only managed this on my final lap decided at that point I was done before I properly killed myself and just became a stain on the floor.

"Only 130 one morning on an empty stretch of motorway, I was on a Triumph Daytona (I think that was the model).

However my best high speed ride was on a RD350 YPVS another morning ride, through the Cheshire countryside apart from villages didn't go below 65 most of the journey "

i'll bet that was one hell of a buzz on a ypvs

depends on the conditions .my fastest was on a crazy straight section of autobahn virtually zero traffic mid afternoon mid week and only the half dozen bikes in our group .helps having a large lcd speedo only needs a quick glance .

Here's another one.. the highest ever recorded top speed in motogp is dovi's ducati. Clocked at 221.5 mph. A prototype machine costing millions and built for 1 purpose, to go extremely fast and win races, the front end of this bike costs more than most peoples houses, but this guy here, silly little you on your mate Dave's bike with a decat and exhaust servo motor removed is only 11.5 mph slower than the fastest and probably most expensive and most over engineered race bike ever made... ok pal, nae bother. At the nw200 the speed trap record is 209mph. So it is possible a speedo on a stocker could show 210. As we all know speedos are slightly inaccurate. And if it is made up.... so what?? .... why worry yourself ?

Ok. So this guy up here then, on his mate Dave's bike, is faster than a professional motorcycle racing legend like Bruce anstey. A guy with 39 isle of man podiums and 13 tt wins. Not to mention Ulster gp and nw200's and all the road races in New Zealand. Aye ok pal. Nae bother.

If your ever down this way in god's county of Yorkshire, hopefully you'll get chance to see the straightliners speed event at elvington, some guys compete against each other at over 200mph in the wheelie competition and as for 220mph, in the top speed runs this is nea bother to most of them.
