Looking for some advice and help.
Anyone know where to get bike suspension setup in Scotland area and roughly how much it would cost.
I just don't feel confident on the bike and feel its a bit harsh on uneven surfaces and doesn't give much confidence in the corners.
Any help would be appreciated. |

Sounds like your bike is set too hard. It's a common mistake people make with sportsbikes!
Try opening ALL the adjustment screws on the forks to fully open (anti-clockwise like opening a water tap) and count the clicks or make note of number of turns.
Then bring them all to the middle of the adjustment. this should give you some suspension movement!
Best is to try and find out how they're set from the factory. That's the best place to start.
Is it just the front forks or has the shock been set to stone as well? Is the back end locking up and squirming under heavy braking? |

The sag, free sag, compression and rebound all have to be measured and set up with the shocks and springs loaded with the riders weight. (You need to be on the bike at the time). So not a job you should tackle on your own. I got mine done by a specialist. Best money I've spent on my bike. |

If it also feels harsh on rough surfaces tyres will play a big part
Is the tyre squaring off tyre pressure to high
As previously said get handbook out and put settings back to standard and work from there |

If you're unsure what you're doing don't piss about with it yourself, you may make things worse and it just might make the bike dangerous to ride... The post above about returning everything to a central position is a good start but not a solution.
Go see Eddie at ERS Racing up at knockhill (they have a website) these guys cater for everyone and know their stuff. A proper suspension setup, tailored to you, will transform your bike and your confidence. |

Thanks wouldn't attempt it myself being a car mechanic I know how much off a pain it is setting up coilovers on a car I wouldn't even think about trying to set up a bike.
I will give Eddie a call today see when he can get me in.
Thanks again |

"Bob grant in pitscottie. I wouldn’t let Eddie set up a pushbike. "
Bob Grant set up a Z1000 for me a while ago, highly recommended.
His place was up at Knockhill then and I'm sure he's still there? |
