Been doing little bits of prep on the race bike this weekend
Lithium ion battery fitted
Rain light fitted
Someone had put a 30mm jack up kit on bike so with seat height at 850mm it was too high for me.
Adapted (with a grinder) the seat unit to get seat height down to 820mm.
Just the race numbers to put on and then drain the coolant and refill with de ionised water and she is ready with 17 days left to test day |

I remember going to the TT one year. With a road VF750FD that was lightly modified to run in the F1 class. Only had a chain fitted in the paddock as he was about to start practice lol |

"I've finally decided to retire...for good this time!
Race bikes have to go.....675, ER650 and a damaged SV650.
Retire what’s that? ????
What year is the 675? "
Haha...I don't bounce as well as I used to, not on the road anyway!
Its a 2010 bike that I converted for the Manx in 2013...engine built by TAG to their British Supersport spec. The engine's only done six laps as I had a second identical bike for practice. It was then put away and until a few weeks ago hasn't been run. |

Just been informed that my presence will be required in Valencia in April to assist 25 young people sort out stuff for the Talent Cup. You'd think I'd be all smiles at this point, great circuit, Spanish sunshine, motorcycles, people going fast..
However...the info I've been sent tells me that the youngest rider is 12 ....
I'm now really depressed for some weird reason and feeling really REALLY old... |

Had a shit time yesterday on trackday/testday. Bought the Daytona 675 before Christmas. Sent forks and shock away to mct for upgrades, new tyres, serviced, set up on dyno so should have been good to go. Went out and bike was hitting the rev limiter at 110 mph . Came in after session to find out that it had standard front sprocket, but rear springs was a 57 tooth, standard is 47, no wonder it was revving out so quick. Was also on a weird size pitch, standard is 525 most racers use 520 with plus 2 on the back and -1 on front. this was a 428. Spent rest of day trying to find a new rear sprocket. Ended up having to go to triumph dealer to get a standard chain and sprockets kit. Came back and my mate had come off on the hairpin and been run over by someone on a Honda fireblade resulting in a broken tib and fib. Best thing yesterday was sharing a garage with Ron Haslam who even rang round his contacts trying to get me sorted with chains and sprockets, top bloke |

If you don't push the limits you won't know where they are...
Hope that doesn't sound patronising, you know way more about that than me Mick lol. Just being supportive. |
