What are your iconic bikes? Can be from Films/TV or a production model.
As a sports bike rider this may sound strange but I'm seriously considering after many years of building a replica of a bike called Black Death 3. It was used in the film Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.
Oh and as OP I'll sneak in the 1992 Fireblade for game changing reasons.
Over to you....

"Suzuki katana 1100"
Yes, way before it's time, held the fastest production record if I'm remembering right prior to the GPZ 9. I saw it next to the new model last year at the NEC. |

1920 Indian scout aka world's fastest Indian
Or Manx Norton as a dream race bike... One day maybe.
But enjoy my gs1000 and it's natural successor my gsx1300.
My 70s gs1000 is still today a very capable bike.

I rode a friends 1930's Indian chief in Canada once. It was an ex US police bike. So they could ride and shoot the throttle was on the left side with a foot clutch and hand gear change on the tank. Bloody strange to say the least lol. |

Iconic bikes, the list could be endless!
However...
The original 750ss Ducati that Paul Smart used at Imola to dust up MV Augusta
The 900ss version used by Mr Hailwood on the Island to do the same thing to Phil Speed
Laverda Jota - waaaay too tall for my legs!
Honda RC 30 - cooked my left knee, but a brill machine
The 916 Ducati - pretty as a picture and went like stink
For the brave the H3 750 Kawasaki triple
and the first oil cooled GSXR 750 Suzuki - the later 1100 sling shot had a hinge in the middle
Finally the EXUP 1000 Yamaha..
Just realised how effing old I am reading this back to myself! |

Age just means we remember when bikes had character lol.
My thunderace shares basically the same EXUP 1000 engine but is largely unrecognised sandwiched between that and the R1.
Your right, the 916 still now is the best looking Ducati to date in my mind though I remember as a boy the Hailwood replica in my local dealers window...

"Zxr with those original hover pipes. Stunning"
I too love the ZXR. I always thought though that it's successor was for me the perfect looking bike. I had the chance to buy a completely original one in red and purple, mint with low miles but at £4000 it was a grand more than my Thinderace which is in as good if not better condition. Had it have been green though perhaps ....lol. |

"steve mc queens triumph from the great escape saw it on dick shepperds stand at the manx last year"
A TR 6 was the model. Bud Ekins did the jump but according to an interview I saw with his then wife she said on the day of that shoot he got up early and jumped the fence before any film crew got there. |

Vincent Black Shadow ? (no I am not that old but what a bike to own)!
Honda CBX 1000 (bloody weird but there will never be another one).
And my favourite one when I was younger a Honda 400 / 4 F2 (I loved that bike).

The famed Black Shadow, I've forgotten the speed records that bike held but it was the fastest for many years.

1959 Harley Davidson Captain America Chopper although it started as a 1952 Harley Davidson Hydraglide if I remember rightly? I know it's an obvious one but I like Easy Rider |
