"Just heard the new about William dunlop are these bike just getting too fast r.I.p "
Too fast for racing? No. Too fast for road racing? Maybe..but you can die on a roadbike at 40mph. Just the luck of the draw..
Tragic that he pulled out of the IOM to be with his wife who was expecting their second child.

The same question gets trotted out everytime their is a serious accident. Accidents can happen no matter the capacity of the bike, the riders are always pushing their own limits and that of their machines, so no matter what cap you put on it the accidents won't stop.
Very sad to hear the news, especially given the reasons he withdrew from the TT. |

Too true, when Joey died he was riding very slowly also.
Thats 2 Dunlops killed and neither was racing at the time.

What does it matter if they weren't 'racing' at the time? They're still going racing speeds. Sometimes you go faster in practice than you do in the race. These sort of comments really are frustrating and indicate you don't really understand what you're commenting on. |

When your time is up, it's up whatever you may be doing. One has little control over that aspect.
They all died doing or having done what they enjoyed. A lesson for many I would think.

Don't know where you get that info from but Joey was actually leading the 125 race when he was killed. |

It's very sad, but I can understand why he raced, I have road raced at Oliver's mount Scarborough for last 'few' years.
Don't know if I ever will again though as the club that runs the events has folded... |

Shame Oliver's mount has stopped, hope it gets going again. I never raced there myself but always fancied going to watch.
And only those who have done it will understand. I've done the Manx Grand Prix and when people ask why I can't put it into words to explain to them!
More sad news today though with the loss of James Cowton |
