The Bala to Llangynog i know quite well not tried the Corwen to bala looks nice |

It is a good road and not to much traffic on it as people tend to use the road from druids to bala more, have you tried the road past the brenig lake to from the moors down to ceerrigydrydion that's a nice road |

Yes i know that one last time i was there it was blocked so had to go the longer route but still a nice road |
