The way diesel has shot up in price this week, it looks like one of the bikes will have to have the ACF50 washed off and be pressed into service earlier than normal!!! I hate getting wet and cold on my commute to work but I can't afford the cost of the fuel using the tinbox.
Looks like one of my bikes is to become essential transport again and not a luxury plaything......
I thought getting cold and wet on a bike was resigned to history for me!!! |

Why wash of the acf 50? I leave mine coated, and it protects from the road grime, wet and salt. We ride all year round, including me riding professionally (my employer provides a rt1200-p which is washed at the end of each shift), and the tin boxes only get used when we need to move stuff that is too big for the bikes. |

Baptism of fire yesterday with Winter riding.
Totally pissed down on my ride home, gloves sodden and water got right through to my crotch.....riding gear leaving puddles in the kitchen as I try to dry it out..
I remember now why I gave up winter riding!!! |

I leave my Triumph laid up over the winter but bought a little CBF 125 as my winter commute this year. Riding like miss daisy returned an incredible 170mpg. I had to do the maths twice. 298 miles and used 14 pints of petrol. |
