I use Cardo pack talk slim. Works really well

If you find a coms unit with “mesh” you can chat to others no matter the brand (so long as they have mesh also)

I may buy one with mesh then at least as I’d say most will invest in that as doesn’t matter what brand of unit you buy then

That's my plan, but there are so many options still, think I will go with the cardo packtalk bold??

I have had Packtalk for four years and it gets a lot of use.

Can't really fault it apart from the crud radio and vox not being able to understand my Lancashire lilt.

Voice activation. The unit picks up that you're speaking and turns comms on.

No. The technology is years old. I used to have it on walkie talkies about 20 years ago.

You’re right, either will sorry you out when you’re riding. Best advice I got was to get the same as your riding partners. That way there’s no compatibility issues.

I have the Senna 30K with mesh great unit but not waterproof! I also have the Schuberth 10u by Senna which is built in to the helmet & a Senna plus mesh which makes it a mesh unit

One thing to remember is Senna & Cardo are not compatible so as others have said you’re best to get what your riding buddies have

The other option is a Senna MeshPort Blue. This is designed for industrial use however will connect Senna to the Cardo mesh!

Sena’s and Cardo’s are compatible, but they are a pain to pair (as in its fairly simple once you realise how, but fair bit of trial and error, and when it comes to do it again you know you’ll have forgotten).

Went from SENA which was great but both are barely working, I’m guessing from water ingress. How they think it’s sensible to not make a waterproof product is beyond me. Cardo’s are good, but over complicated for what they need to be imho.

.....no......

I have a couple of cardo pack talk bolds.

I have found them to be brilliant.

The jbl speaker upgrade is worth the money.

Mesh and Bluetooth are great with decent range, especially in groups

The voice controls are as good as you can expect and the buttons are easy to find in a glove.

Can connect every other unit I've come across which is super handy.

Sharing music across a connection is an ace little feature.

The downside is that it takes a while to get used to the voice commands and the button combinations but can be operated from the app if you have a phone mount.

You should always consider getting the same units as your riding mates and buy in multipacks to save money.

Anyone got experience of Nolan’s N-Com? I have one of their lids and it seems logical to use their system as it’s tailored to fit…

Me too. I’m really only considering it for sat-nav directions and emergency use.
