Personally love The Bike Shed, such a cool environment...
But Ace Cafe has all the nostalgia, but with poor food and investment think its days are numbered?! |

"I’ve only seen ace cafe and it looked a right dump.
Is bike shed any good
Pitty there’s not a cafe like it in notts "
It's in Wembley which is a dump ! Rode past it a few times on north circular but how hell you get to it is a complete mystery
The road network around there looks like it was designed by someone inspired by a bowl of spaghetti |

I highly recommend the bike shed, it’s very friendly and it works at any time of day. A cafe, bar, restraunt with TV for bike events and out door seating to watch the bikes roll by.
Just a pitty it’s a 3 hours return trip for me in Surrey. |

Been a while since I last visited the ace cafe but the fry ups were always good for setting you up for a day out on the bike. I think the main thing putting me off going now is I believe it falls into the emissions zone for older bikes so paying £11 or whatever it is for the pleasure of a bit of breakfast isn’t really worth it |

London / Essex borders |
The Ace may seem complicated to find, as it's on a local road parallel to the North Circular, but its actually pretty straightforward.
The new ULEZ will cover all of North London, upto but not including the North circular, and the Ace is just on the northern side of this, so will be outside the charge zone.
Given a straight choice I'd say Bike Shed 9/10 times, but the ace is a better meeting point for groups.
Anyone fancy sorting out a meet sometime at either? |

Each to their own like but these "lifestyle" cafes are just pretentious rubbish to me...
Fill a flask and make up a packed lunch, get out of the smoke and enjoy the countryside.... |
