CBT angry!

I took my CBT a couple of years ago, and then Covid happened. All lessons, tests, theory tests, etc, for the last year or more, have been cancelled, so I’ve not been able to progress on to my DAS. Now that tests have started again, I have got my DAS booked for October, but my CBT expires at the end of this month, and the government aren’t extending them to account for the lost time through Covid. So that’s another £170 I’ve had to shell out!

That’s it, really…. Just a frustrated post. Anyway, I’ve got my eye on a Honda CBR 650F, and can’t wait to join some mates on bike rallies.

Have you checked other test centres, I (fem) travelled to Bristol to fo mine on my own bike, didn't cost too much on the insurance, a lot less than lessons and a test via an instructor.

Unfortunately it's happening all over.

I've invested thousands in my PPL and will have to repeat much of what I've already progressed through. My daughter can't book a driving theory test anywhere.

we both booked our bike theory test last Thursday for today. got the discs on Friday. Used the discs Saturday and Sunday and passed the theory today. Check around for testing centre availability. CBT and Direct Access is causing a nightmare. wish i had got my full licence back in the 1980's instead of leaving the bike to have a car. Never had all this hastle back then.

Ah so sorry. That’s so unfair. The whole test. new licence thing is a mess

Don’t give up and please look out for every other road user , if you expect them to pull out and cut you up then you’ll survive

It’s not just me, then?

I managed to get my theory test done, but that was over a month’s wait. It’s just getting booked in for my CBT refresher and DAS. Plus, some places are so over priced!! I managed to get a family friend who owns a motorcycle school (who did my original CBT) to book me in for half the price of other places.

And I always expect people to cut me up and pull out in front of me in my car, so I’ll be extra cautious on a bike!

Can’t wait to get going though. I’m looking forward to joining friends on bike rallies and riding holidays.

I’m booked in, now. It was just annoying that the DVLA weren’t extending CBTs to account for the lost time through the pandemic. It’s just extra money to fork out to re-do it.
