Running Michelin Road 5s and time once again for new rubber. 5k from the front and 3k from the rear. Looking at 300 quid fitted - this is a fekking expensive hobby

If you think that’s expensive don’t go racing

Mine are £350 a set and I stretch them to 4 races

Some have new tyres every 2 races. That’s £700 for the weekend

As tyres are the thing that keep you sticking to the road, price should not be an issue, it's simple, grippy/sticky tyres won't last long, I got 800 mile out a supercorsa one TT a good few years ago, got home and it was done, but what a great time I had ruining it. Same with the gear, pisses me off when you see bikers with top spec sbk's and cheap nasty leathers/helmets/boots/gloves etc

Yup totally agree it’s money well spent on the boots and the gear. Won’t stop me moaning about it though

Market Harborough / Kettering

Just been quoted £280 for a pair on mine and I'm glad this post is here as I've forgotten to order them! Apparently the racing slick on my rear is not the way forward!!

Have a look at black circles, you might get it cheaper.
