does the gps 'see whos near' work in Australia on the mobile app?

2 profiles that we know of that say they now live in Australia always seem to come up online on mobile and still within 50 miles of us in the uk?

Doesn't work; I am in Australia and when I use it always get peeps from the uk showing up as nearby
