No. They tag the sharks and try and get them out to sea. The tag allows monitoring for the future. Generally the reason they try and “fed rid” of the shark quickly is to re-open beaches as it’s all huge for Sydney tourism and economy. They want to avoid a “Jaws” incident.
I believe this shark came from deep water thinking the diver was a seal and attacked vertically and with pace hence the ferocity of the incident.
Very little anyone could have done about it. Sadly. |
