On arrival we rang the bell, waited, and waited and waited. Several rings and a long delay later the door was answered as we were about to leave.
Steve answered the door, showed us through to the lounge and that was that. No information on the venue, or where the facilities were and no further interaction.
Bought a couple of glasses of wine that I wouldn't use for cooking, never mind drinking. A member of staff shouted Steve to ask how much for these and the answer, "make it a fiver". So much for a price list.
One of the folks we had already spoken to showed us the three rooms available for play, they seemed clean though small.
We all look for different things in terms of venues, from the reviews for Paradise it seems a few folks like the venue and regularly review it. I have to say that I agree with another reviewer that said it felt like a working men's club and a poor one at that.
We've played at a number of clubs / venues in the Uk and abroad, this isn't one we'd recommend. The vibe wasn't right and we walked out after 15 minutes, certainly not somewhere we consider again.
