Vicki turned around her T shirt was covered in dust and so was the back of her hair. She walked off and started to climb the stairs.

She heard the door shut behind her and Caroline laying into him.

Vicki was too tired, too pissed off to care and wandered the remaining stairs to her room. She felt too numb to cry in fact it felt like a bad dream she was in.

She stripped off her T shirt and shorts, she could still smell them on her, she felt dirty and violated, she turned on the shower and waited for it to warm up, the air conditioning in the house made her feel even colder, she turned the control on the shower to maximum heat.

She stepped in, normally it would be nearly scolding her skin but it felt just right. She stood her head under the soft waterfall, she looked down at the shower tray as rivers of dirty water channeled down to the plug hole.

She squeezed a handful of shower gel and lathered it up in her hand and covered her body. She felt so angry for letting herself get in that predicament...tbc

The hot water was finally warming her through, her skin was bright red from the heat, it felt so comforting.

If she wasn't so tired she could have stayed there for hours. She washed her hair, then stepped out, she turned off the shower and wrapped herself with a towel, she sat on the bed and combed her wet hair, she would normally dry it but she just wanted that large comfortable bed.

She climbed in, pulled the duvet over her, as soon as her head hit the pillow she was out.

The light shone through her eyelids waking her up. She gradually opened her eyes it was 6.34. she stretched and yawned, the night before dawned on her all over again, the first thing she thought was to get out of there, she would look at flights later and hopefully make her excuses and depart a day early.

She looked out of her window, Donald was already up tending to the garden. He owed her big time, she needed to speak to him before Caroline was up.

A dip in the cool pool would give her chance and an excuse to speak to him.

She got out of bed and fished out her bikini from her case and slipped it on.

She grabbed a towel from the bathroom and went out of her room and down the stairs, the dogs came running to her, she tried to be as quiet as she could, she couldn't see Caroline anywhere.

She slipped through the living room and out onto the patio.

Donald looked up at her holding his hose.

Caroline looked out of the bedroom window she could hear voices, she looked down at Vicki and Donald, Vicki looked quite angry and very animated, her arms swinging and gesturing, something wasn't right..tbc

Caroline looked down then back out of the window as Vicki walked off to the pool.

She got her silk dressing gown on then went downstairs.

The dogs ran up to greet her. As she went through the letter ving room and out onto the patio, Vicki was in the pool swimming a couple of lengths.

Caroline's new looked over at Vicki doing slow back strokes.

Donald looked at Caroline, trying to guage whether she believed him, she didn't of course, they'd been married long enough to know when the other wasn't telling the whole truth.

Vicki really wasn't in the mood she just wanted to be thirty six thousand feet up in the air over the Atlantic heading home.

Caroline was insistent though.

I don't know Caroline I'd have to think about it. Vicki thought by saying that it would give her enough time to get back to her room and find a flight to get her back, she'd wished now she'd done it before she got up.

Caroline's demeanor changed, she seemed a bit put out and annoyed that Vicki would even be considering her offer.

Caroline got up and shuffled stroppy fashion back to the house. Vicki looked over at Donald still pissed off.

She dried herself down and wrapped a towel around herself as she walked passed Donald, he'd seen too much of her already she figured and went upto her room for a "shower".

She layed on the bed and trawled her phone for flights back.

Twenty minutes later still no joy. If she wanted to go this afternoon then only one she could get was indirect, taking two internal flights this evening to Chicago then New York, she'd end up getting home virtually the same time as tomorrow mornings direct flight to Heathrow. There was a direct flight this morning, taking off in about twenty minutes time.

She kicked the pillow with her foot in frustration. It seemed that unless a miracle flight could be chartered just to take her, she was trapped in the Trueman show as a guest of Caroline and the pervy Donald for the next twenty four hours..tbc

There was nothing she could do and it looked like Caroline had already booked her in at her so called friends.

She could smell warm pastries or something coming from the kitchen downstairs, her mouth watered. It was no use moping there was absolutely nothing she could do, she'd just have to grit her teeth and bare another twenty four hours.

She turned on the shower and waited for the water to warm then stepped in, she couldn't get rid of the smell of them two last night no matter how much she scrubbed, it was all in her head of course, but no matter how much expensive showel gel she used the smell was still there like diesel or paraffin.

The bedroom door opened and in wandered Caroline.

Vicki turned the shower off, the noise of the water running off her and onto the tray,she grabbed a towel from the hook at the other end of the tray, Caroline's hand emerged quickly from her gown.

Ok well let's have breakfast and I'll run you over there.

Vicki came downstairs with the only clothes she could find suitable in her suitcase, which for California consisted of mainly shorts and T shirts, she had bought a little mini skirt however and found some sexy little knickers shed packed "just in case". Caroline left the room and went off upstairs, Vicki made sure she was gone then went out to find Donald, she wasn't through with him just yet.

He wasn't in the garden she guessed the only other place he could be would be is the garage messing around with that fucking car she had come to despise.

Donald was outside hosing his car of the dust from last night.

He always seemed to be at his happiest, hose in hand ( bit like most men) she thought.

Donald clocked her, the hose spraying his sandals.

God damn it he shouted.

She didn't want to really talk with him she was still mad as hell with him.

She slipped him a piece of paper, which he looked at then quickly folded it and pushed it into his shorts pocket, she turned and walked off, his eyes following her tight arse till she turned the corner of the house and headed to the back garden again.

She made herself a black coffee from the machine and took a couple of pieces of fruit and went and sat at the table on the patio, wondering what today was gonna hold.

It wasn't long before Caroline was down and joining her at the table, coffee, and a bowl of fruit and a pill box with little trays for each day of the week, each tray filled with different coloured and size pills, some that big, Vicki wondered what end you'd take them.

She poured out today's tray over the table, Vicki caught a large one rolling her way.

Caroline took a handful of the pills, threw them into her mouth then swigged them down with a mouthful of coffee.

Vicki turned her chair, looking at the pool and the garden, the morning sun already warming her face, she put on her sunglasses, then took a banana from her bowl of fruit and peeled it as she watched the sun dance over the little ripples in the water.

She peeled the sky n down to the bottom, she normally broke the top off to eat it but for some reason this morning she slipped the end unconsciously, but sexily into her mouth.

She heard Caroline's patio chair scrape on the slabs below, she turned slightly to see Caroline staring at her, shuffling in her seat, what was she staring at?

Oh I don't know them honey, I like a bit o country, Donald likes the old stuff, Elvis, Little Richard that kinda thing you know.

The car drove smoothly and almost silent to the gates as they opened. Caroline put her Chanel sunglasses on and turned right onto the road and accelerated. They passed the big mansions, sprinklers rotating over the manicured lawns and hedges the rich and beautiful people were out cleaning their Bentleys and Range Rovers on their driveways, it all looked scripted, too perfect.

Caroline pointing out movie stars houses along the way although Vicki didn't actually get to see any of them, tell a lie she saw some famous director pointed out to her that she'd never even heard of but was apparently well known in the area.

The car pushed on through the suburbs and out of town where the houses seemed to be a lot smaller but no doubt still expensive, till they hit the freeway.

The Range Rover glided them effortlessly upto the fifty five speed limit,it seemed a majestic pace with the expanse of road compared to Britain.

The sun beaming down on the bonnet and reflecting onto the screen. The cabin was cool,the air conditioning seeing to that, contrasting to the hot thirty two degrees centigrade temperature outside, the cars screen was displaying.

It sure is, she replied, the Americanism was now creeping into her vocabulary, after listening to Caroline and Donald for the last couple of days.

They turned off some exit and headed into countryside, Vicki imagined seeing kids running through acres of corn, while there parents ran the farm, or seeing some old woman sitting in her rocking chair on her stoop, shot gun resting on her lap, a little cliched but that's was she envisaged, the truth was it couldn't be anymore different, she came to the conclusion, she'd watched too many westerns as a kid with her Dad.

They drove past the fields and onto an estate, well a few really big houses that looked a bit out of place in what seemed the middle of no where.

The house they pulled upto didn't look half as impressive as Caroline's never the less it looked bloody expensive, another Range Rover graced the driveway sitting next to a large pick up truck.

Caroline switched the engine off.

Vicki half nodded

Ok let's do this!

They got out of the car and walked up the driveway to the front door.

Caroline pressed the bell as Vicki adjusted herself.

They're here, they're here!! came squealing from inside.
