What does this term mean to you? How do you use it? I've heard various ways of it being used or inferred by others. Interested to know the general thinking on it.....

Athlone

If I were to use it it would be in the context of ending/drawing to a close a conversation I was having with someone here. I would expect it to be the same context of said to me too.

I use it as a way to say goodbye at the end of a message, just as a goodbye kinda thing ..... starting to think my messages might be overly formal

Nice way of making sure they understand we aren't interested in most cases

It probably does mean " not interested in any further communication" to most fabbers but only means "f*ck off" when used by those who tend to resort to using such coarse language on a regular basis.

Good to see people's perspective. I've always used it to close down conversation after chatting for a bit. As in, good luck on here but nope, not for me lol Feels like nice way of ending chats. But some people use it differently & was curious about it all. Thanks for the reply's everyone xxx

Your reply feels a bit judgey. I dunno. I'm a bottle of Prosecco in so who knows lol but what's wrong with coarse language every now & then when needed?

A bit like the idea that when you are explaining you are losing, I believe that when you have to resort to using profanities you are showing weakness in your ability to convince others of the correctness of your position through normal conversation.

Sometimes, it’s necessary to use a profanity because it’s the only way to get your point across to someone who you’ve tried to get your point across to but they are like a dog with a bone and won’t let go at which stage, a profanity or profanities are the only thing that will make it cease.

It’s the fab equivalent of the passive aggressive “have a nice day!”

I (Mr.) use it as a friendly goodbye- It's not a 'fuck off' for me- merely a 'we wish you well', or 'good luck on your (sexual) journey!'

I no longer use it but when I did it was in this context.

If I need to tell someone to fuck off, I use the phrase "fuck off you bastarding cunt"
