Male club prices

Was contemplating attending a club last week, but when I enquired the price what I considered over priced.

What is the most you have paid to gain entry into a club?

I don't really go to clubs anymore but £100 Le Boudoir last year. Think it's more now.

£50 is my limit. Could not bring myself to pay more than that

Is the question the wrong one?

Surely you should ask yourself how much you’re willing to pay for a great night out, whatever that night out is; bar, vanilla world club, meal, football, whatever.

Then balance that with would you pay the same to visit a swingers club? If no then don’t!

Or are you asking, how much am I willing to pay on the off chance I might get laid and what price I am prepared to place on that?

Just a thought

"Was contemplating attending a club last week, but when I enquired the price what I considered over priced.

Yeah sadly entry fees will always tend to be much higher priced as there always more guys interested in attending then couples and woman. It can range in price a fair bit depending on the venue and it does help keep male numbers down tbf. I think the idea being they make it clear you should never go expecting anything to happen so if your thinking of going you consider before hand how keen are you in actually attending the venue while fully understanding it could be uneventful, excluding or you decide not to stop long. On the front of things yeah it just seems a very expensive club entry fee but then that’s equally the wrong mindset to why you should want to go really. Think £75 is the most I’ve seen asked before and that wouldn’t bother to be honest if it was an event I want to go to and enjoy socialising etc

The price will be set at what people are prepared to pay for the service they’re providing. If the price is too high then people will stop paying it and they’ll go out of business. If you’ve never been to the club before and you don’t know how good the service is that they supply then how can you say it’s overpriced? I think what you actually mean is that its more than you can afford to pay, which is a different issue altogether.

I always have an issue with couples paying the same as a single man.

A woman is coming along with that couple so why should we pay same as a man ??? If you understand me ..

Plus as a couple we can be voyeur’d at if as a couple you so wish to do that..

I do feel sorry for single males sometimes because in some clubs they’re made to pay extortionate membership fees plus entry fees!

There are clubs out there, who charge a low, one-off LIFETIME membership fee for single females and couples, but charge a grossly unfair ANNUAL membership fee for single males. There's absolutely no justification for the disparity of length of time for membership. I avoid these types of club

It's often because there is a waiting list for single guys on application. It helps keep it rolling as those who don't renew, their spot can be given to someone else. Helps keep the ratio balanced.

I'm not saying I agree with it, we enjoy the company of single men and wish more clubs catered to them. I don't think a rolling membership is a bad idea but I'm not sure I agree with the disparity in price.

Couples and single ladies, can never really have too many in a club. But you don't want a club to be a sausage fest if you're not looking for guys.

Well, speaking as a straight, white guy, it would be nice to feel more welcome in clubs (from both staff and so-called friendly regulars), and overall; less like Fab condensed in to one building…..

Slways gonna be more expensive for ‘single guys’ given demand, but does grate when you see the other prices. It’s how it is and I doubt it’ll change.

Its quite simple really, would any of the single straight men visit a club with no couples or single women?

The answer is no. If anything couples/ladies pay to much for some clubs as without them nobody would attend

If I'm going to a club, and I know some of my male friends are going, I'll offer to "couple up" with them to help ensure they can actually come out and have a good time without worrying quite so much about how much it's costing them just to attend.

The clubs are cool with this because they get extra bodies in, and it makes me feel a little safer knowing I have friends there should anything go wrong for whatever reason.

I've also attended clubs as part of a big group of friends from the local kink scene before. The club seemed to absolutely love that, because it brought so many women in.

The thing that irks me the most about disparate pricing is on bi nights especially, where they don't offer discounted couple rates to MM couples. It's put some of my friends off attending.

Some excellent points raise there and maybe it’s should be considered in the pricing structure. I am not mean and will pay the going rate but some fluctuate quite extremely depending on nights. Understandable Friday and Saturday nights pricing policy as busiest nights. But treble or quadruple the price isn’t right to me.

Clubs obviously can charge what they feel they can but it’s always better with more people in.

single males paying £30 or £49 is better then 2 paying £60 especially if make money from the bar drinks etc. It should create atmosphere's and more for choice for the females or other couples. Bette night all round

As a single male I thank you for taking one for the team by being in a club that allows single males. However your comment above would ensure I would without hesitation blank you in every aspect. I would go for the social atmosphere and zero expectation, not to be judged by a couple who think they add some kind of value with their presence.

Can you imagine the crowd of men they'd get if they charged a tenner?!

Personally I think those that are serious about being a single guy in the swinging world will happily pay what it costs to go to a decent club. Its expensive for couples as well. As said above you pay the same for a meal out.

That’s not what I said but nice try. If there were couples with your attitude at club/party I would completely avoid them and if that meant it would end up being a purely social time talking to whoever else l then I’d be fine with that.

As a single male, I wouldn’t want to attend a club where the price for single men was the same as single women or couples, as the place would be overrun by single men, completely ruining the vibe.

The last thing clubs need are any more ‘wanking dead’ hanging around in sinister-looking groups or following people around.

There are clubs that charge the same price for single men and couples. I don't think a per person price would work.

I don't personally think that we, as a couple, offer more to clubs as opposed to single men. However, we would go to a couples evening as opposed to go to club where we are outnumbered by single men and just one or two other couples.

Picking nights that work for you is the key. We love Greedy Girl nights because they attract a wide range of guys, BMFC we've always found the guys are super respectful and always ask about what we are looking for, our boundaries our dynamic etc.

Again, clubs that actively welcome guys, harder to find but I look for how the website etc is worded, do they put as much effort in single guy friendly nights as they do couples/ladies nights etc. Lots of clubs also do newbie nights so you can sample them without commiting to a full membership

I club as a solo lady and whilst entry is usually £10-20 depending on the club, there aren't any local to me, so I factor in petrol and hotel costs which means it's rarely under £100 all in (before I've eaten or d*unk anything). Which I am very happy to pay as I enjoy socialising and dressing up for a party, whether I play or not.

I'm probably spending a lot more overall than some of local guys who live a 5 minute drive from the club, but that's my choice, and I don't bitch about it all over the forums in terms of how much "success" I've had versus the financial cost. It's a night out and that's that.

Respectfully, this is a point I vehemently disagree with - the idea that charging more money inherently attracts a better crowd. If anything, charging more only encourages them to "expect" more!

For myself, the more I'd pay the more I'd expect in terms of atmosphere etc (not sex obviously).

I think it's down to club owners/organisers to be responsible keep the numbers to a sensible level.

There is always the case of supply and demand and obviously if no couples or women attend then it would be a sausage fest and that's a different type of night/club so fully expect there to be a difference. I fully expect to pay somewhere between 35 and 50 quid anything more and I just won't attend. My main gripe is being near London virtually every club I'm not welcome on a Saturday night but am welcome other nights which to me means we need your support the rest of the week but when it's busy f*** o**. It grates

I think the ball park figure is £50 for single men. Abfabs recently increased their social price for men from £35 to £50 which I feel is unfair as going earlier to the social means more money spent behind the bar. I have stated my disappointment, doubt anything will change. At the end of the day, men will pay whatever price is charged if they really want to attend. I agree it can’t be too cheap as there will be so many men, would just be a cock fest.

Somewhere over the rainbow

I would much prefer to go to a club with single men and single women only. I'd happily pay the same rate as the single guys in that senario

"Its quite simple really, would any of the single straight men visit a club with no couples or single women?

The answer is no. If anything couples/ladies pay to much for some clubs as without them nobody would attend

As a single male I thank you for taking one for the team by being in a club that allows single males. However your comment above would ensure I would without hesitation blank you in every aspect. I would go for the social atmosphere and zero expectation, not to be judged by a couple who think they add some kind of value with their presence."

Eepp… one for the team? What’s that all about? Doesn’t sound very good if doing for sake of others and not their own enjoyment?

From memory the most we've paid for entry was 80 Euros in a club in France where all of the clubs we attended were couples only and very busy.

The busiest night in the preferred club we go to in the UK is also couples only.

As the running costs are the same for mixed nights, which are less popular, this could be the reason for charging single men more.

"There is always the case of supply and demand and obviously if no couples or women attend then it would be a sausage fest and that's a different type of night/club so fully expect there to be a difference. I fully expect to pay somewhere between 35 and 50 quid anything more and I just won't attend. My main gripe is being near London virtually every club I'm not welcome on a Saturday night but am welcome other nights which to me means we need your support the rest of the week but when it's busy f*** o**. It grates"

It is not "f off" to single men on Saturdays/nights when single men are not allowed it. It is catering to couples who are not interested in playing with single men, just other couples and/or single ladies, and don't want single men around. Look at it as exactly the same as bi nights turning straight people away as they cater for people who are at least bi curious, for example.

I'm sure there are clubs that do welcome single men on Saturdays, I know at least one and it's not that far from London.

"I club as a solo lady and whilst entry is usually £10-20 depending on the club, there aren't any local to me, so I factor in petrol and hotel costs which means it's rarely under £100 all in (before I've eaten or d*unk anything).

"

Completely agree, I went out Friday as a single lady and that cost over £150 for the night, really enjoyed dressing up and the vibe so good night had

Can you honestly say you would have still enjoyed the night out, if you hadn't shared some sexy playtime?

Always. Clubs are a chance for me to dress up slutty, meet some new people, chat to interesting folk, have a dance (if there's a dance floor), make some friends and catch up with old friends. I probably play about 50% of the time, but unlike you I don't keep a spreadsheet and tally up sexual encounters versus cost outlay....

I've been to clubs and not played before, and had a great night out.

Are you saying that unless you have sex you feel your money has been wasted?

100% yes. Much prefer a club night out to a normal night out. Play is just a bonus for me but not essential.

How do you know she did have some sexy playtime? Are you assuming that, just because she is a woman, play time is guaranteed?

"Can you imagine the crowd of men they'd get if they charged a tenner?!

I think you're completely correct. Charging so much cultivates an entitled mindset among certain men and clearly doesn't stop unwanted behaviour givien how many complaints you read.

The way to balance attendees is by setting limits on numbers allowed to attend. Differential pricing doesn't work and is completely illegal - being a private membership club doesn't get around it because that loophole was closed years ago. It amazes me that so many guys are happy to get treated like chumps and cash cows because none of the women I know would ever put up with that kind of treatment.

It tells you something about a club and the experience it offers if they have to charge women less than a tenner to get them to attend.

Following on to this, I suspect that the fact that men are what keeps clubs afloat also leads to those clubs not properly enforcing rules and cracking down on behaviour by some of those men that spoils it for everyone else.

In the Conscious Sexuality and kink community, male numbers are limited by ticket sales. Male behaviour is better but is also policed better too. And in the Conscious community you don't have the problem of the demon drink either.

Undoubtedly women do get cheaper tickets when female ticket sales are low but the advertised cost is the same.

The clues are there Watson....

I think we can agree, that it's more unusual to hear a woman didn't have any play time on a club visit, than a man?

In the last three weeks, two female friends of mine individually went for their first time visits to two very different clubs. Both solo, I'll add.

They were both very well received, and each enjoyed playtime with several guys. Excellent stuff for a first time club experience, and each can't wait to return! I look forward to hearing how they get on next time....

To be fair; you've tallied up enough of your sexual encounters to state you probably play 50% of the time...

No need for spreadsheets; sticking with my maximum outlay of £50 entry fee, if I visit a club, feel welcome, meet some friendly people, and the place is well-appointed and clean, I'll consider a return visit

Not at all, but the poster I posed the question to was giving the impression she had an entirely social evening, which (and all good fortune to her), it wasn't...

Most clubs policies are to charge twice or more the admission price for single guys. There are other ways , other than high pricing to govern the amount / balance of single males. As I'm not a wealthy man I don't go to clubs for cost reasons.

It will likely be £50 for clique members, then £variable for non-clique members, first-timers etc…..

Or it could even be a reference to membership/day pass fees, where applicable, too.

I don’t think it’s an unfair request from clubs to charge men more.

When you look at ratios of attendees to parties/clubs/saunas, unless explicitly stated, they’re almost always over populated by men. Yes people want to have fun but I can appreciate why it might be overwhelming for single women or even couples.

Let’s be honest. There’s an overabundance of men here and in the scene, myself included. Single women are almost unicorns at this point in that finding one completely comfortable in the scene you would want them to feel comfortable. And couples as well, yes there are a fair few out there but I mean unless it’s your thing to just be leered at you don’t want to be worn down by constantly saying no thanks to pushy people.

I think the pricings are fair on the websites of clubs I’ve enquired about. But that’s just me.

Venues also have running costs so you can appreciate a precedent would be set for levels of prices. Le Boudoir I can imagine, just on location and rent would be completely justified for charging £90/100 on a regular basis compared to say OP4F being around £40/50/60 for males.

When I went to OP4F on Friday I thought it was fair, considering it’s a BYOB affair. The select males prices on certain nights are probably where I draw the line personally because they’re nights for specific reasons and I wouldn’t want to over reach.

Just my 2 cents. And 3 and 4

"As a single male, I wouldn’t want to attend a club where the price for single men was the same as single women or couples, as the place would be overrun by single men, completely ruining the vibe.

The last thing clubs need are any more ‘wanking dead’ hanging around in sinister-looking groups or following people around."
